Rear End
The goal is to use the existing 10 bolt carrier but strengthen it to handle the big block. Many people aren't aware that you can build a stout 10-bolt for not too much money and end up with a unit that will easily handle the abuse of a mildly built big block. The benefit is you end up with a rear end that is much lighter than a 12-bolt or Ford 9". Our plans for the rear end include:
- 3.42 Richmond gears
- 30-spline axles
- 30-spline Eaton posi unit
- Welded carrier axle tubes
- All new bearing/seal rebuild kit
- Rear end cover with girdle / main caps support
